A lot of little girls play with Barbie dolls for hours at a time and dream of the fun never ending once they grow up. For Amy Fink, life has only gotten more fun since the days when she combed her dolls’ hair and made special outfits for them.
Amy, long thought by her friends and family to be “fashion forward,” has always been passionate about not only looking good, but more importantly, looking original. She grew up in Indiana, Pennsylvania, a small town northeast of Pittsburgh, and graduated from St. Vincent College in nearby Latrobe where she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art in 2001.
With her dream and the foundation for her career in place, Amy headed for the West Coast. At San Francisco’s Academy of Art University she immersed herself in the industry and worked tirelessly to put scores of ideas on paper and, ultimately, turned them into reality at her sewing machine. Amy’s hard work paid off when she accepted her Master of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design in December 2004.
In 2006 Amy took a major step and launched her own business and clothing line, where she creates simple and classic clothing that can be worn day or night. Amy's favorite thing to do is research and explore all kinds of unique fabrics. Her inspirations come from the colors, textures and prints of the fabrics that she finds. All clothing from the Amy Fink collection are made with love in San Francisco.
